Pilot Assembly

The Democratic Odyssey (DO) promotes a way of organising assemblies that is significantly anchored in the local dimension. This is why we talk about a translocal, travelling assembly. The DO process will touch on the lived experiences of different sites in Europe, and yet seeks to come up with solutions that can work for all. To test the methodology fleshed out in the Modular Framework, co-designed by our Constituent Network, we organise a Pilot Assembly in 2024/2025 to test many elements that compose its innovative design. Follow us along the journey, which we are hoping can take us through to the instutitionalisation of a permanent Peoples’ Assembly for Europe!

The 2024/2025 Pilot

• September 2023 – the Democratic Odyssey kicks off in Athens [watch launch video]
• September 2024 – the first Assembly moment, in Athens – with its onboarding material and the full Athens report [watch the livestream]
• November 2024 – the second Assembly moment, online [livestream of the public part]
• February 2025 – the third Assembly moment, in Florence [livestream]
• April 2025 – the fourth Assembly moment [online recording only available to Members]
• May 2025 - the Feedback session [livestream of the public part]
• May 2025 – the fifth Assembly moment, in Vienna [livestream]

Each on-site session was preceded by an onboarding session dedicated to connecting the previously recruited assembly members, with the one more recently selected to participate in the city the assembly was travelling to.
